Manchester United attacker Bruno Fernandes has said that the Red Devils will enter Wednesday's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid full of confidence.
Back-to-back Premier League wins over Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United have allowed Ralf Rangnick's side to move into fourth spot in the table, with the team now four points clear of fifth-placed West Ham United.
Man United will now travel to Wanda Metropolitano to face Atletico in the first leg of their last-16 tie, and Fernandes has insisted that his side will be heading to Madrid to win.
"I think the team has been playing well, even in games we didn't win. Obviously when you don't get the results, it's not perfect for you, and obviously we know that," Fernandes told reporters.
"Winning games gives you more confidence and going into this game that's important as it's a difficult one. Having that confidence of winning games gives you something more to be prepared for the game, to be more focused and to understand that if we do the right things and the things we worked to do, and if we stick to the plan from the first minute to the last minute, we can win the game."
Fernandes has scored nine times and registered 13 assists in 33 appearances for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, including six assists in five Champions League outings.
