Tom Cleverley absent from Manchester United training

Midfielder Tom Cleverley looks likely to miss Manchester United's Champions League fixture with FC Galati tomorrow evening after he sat out a training session today.

The 22-year-old is currently suffering with an ankle injury sustained during his side's 1-0 victory against Everton on Saturday, although manager Sir Alex Ferguson has since played down the problem.

Also absent from training this morning was Ryan Giggs, Ashley Young, Federico Macheda and Chris Smalling.

England international Michael Carrick was on the training ground but worked alone.
