Chris Wilder offers Kyle Walker Sheffield United move?

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder offers defender Kyle Walker a move back to the club when he eventually leaves Manchester City.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has offered Kyle Walker a move to the club when he eventually leaves Manchester City.

The 29-year-old has previously claimed that he would love to return one day to play for the Blades, where he spent 12 years coming through their youth setup before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2009.

Speaking ahead of the meeting between the two sides on Tuesday, Wilder said: "Kyle's a Sheffield boy. I tried to tap him up when we played City but he said he's got a another couple of years playing there.

"He's one I would take and I think the world of him. I'm sure we'll be able to find a role for him when he decides to leave Manchester.

"He's a top player and he's already said he wants to finish what has been a brilliant career back at Sheffield United. Don't count against it.

"He's got my number and he knows he can phone me anytime."

The England international has scored one goal in 23 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side this season.
