Ferran Torres is pushing for Barcelona to sign his former Manchester City teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to a report.

Ferran Torres is reportedly pushing for Barcelona to sign his former Manchester City teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko during this summer's transfer window.

The Catalan giants are expected to be in the market for a new left-back ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, with head coach Xavi keen to sign competition for Jordi Alba.

According to Fichajes, Torres, who moved to Barcelona from Man City in January, has recommended that the La Liga giants make an offer for Zinchenko.

The 25-year-old has contributed two assists in 18 appearances for the Citizens this season and still has more than two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

The Ukraine international has only made eight Premier League outings this term, though, with his last appearance in England's top flight coming at Norwich City on February 12.

Zinchenko has featured 118 times for Man City since joining the English champions in 2016, winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cup crowns in the process.
