David Silva says that he is committed to Manchester City and is reportedly due to sign a big-money contract worth £52m.

Manchester City playmaker David Silva is reportedly expected to put pen to paper on a new big-money contract with the Premier League champions.

The former Valencia midfielder has been at the centre of speculation, with many reports suggesting that La Liga winners Real Madrid are keen on luring the Spaniard to the Bernabeu.

It is understood that Silva will snub the Spanish giants in favour of a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, which is thought to be worth almost £200,000 a week, according to the Daily Star.

"My home is at City and I am totally satisfied there," Silva is quoted as saying. "My head is not at Real Madrid but at Manchester City.

"I'm grateful for my experience at City and I have improved as a player, in every sense, since I joined them. I didn't know if I was capable of playing like this when I left Valencia.

"I'm on holiday right now, but my agents are negotiating a new deal with City and I think it's likely we close it in a very short time."

Silva was one of the key players that helped lead Spain to Euro 2012 glory over Italy last weekend.
