Report: Manchester City plan major summer clearout

Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko are among eight players Manchester City expect to leave this summer, it is claimed.

Manchester City are prepared to get rid of as many as eight players as they plan to dramatically change their squad this summer, according to reports.

The defending Premier League champions are currently in the midst of an awful run of form, and the club are expected to spend big at the end of the season to repair the squad.

The Telegraph reports that City are keen to get rid of Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri, Edin Dzeko, Gael Clichy, Aleksander Kolorov and Steven Jovetic, while Frank Lampard will join New York City FC and James Milner is out of contract.

Milner has been linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of the season, while Inter Milan have openly declared their intention to sign Toure.

City currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, and are under pressure from Liverpool as they fight to secure a top-four finish.

The Citizens face West Ham United on Saturday.
