Report: Manchester City to offer Joe Hart new five-year contract

A report suggests that Manchester City are poised to hand Joe Hart a new five-year deal with the club after providing him with assurances over his role with the club.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to offer Joe Hart a new contract to tie his long-term future to the club.

The 27-year-old has had an inconsistent year for City and has suffered losses of form which have seen him replaced for spells in the first team by Costel Pantilimon and Willy Caballero.

The decisions made by Manuel Pellegrini have left the England international unsure over whether to commit his future to the Citizens.

However, the City boss has made a point of assuring Hart that he remains the first-choice keeper at the club, and is poised to offer him a five-year deal with a pay rise to move his wages to £150,000-per-week, reports The Mirror.

Hart has made 259 appearances for City in all competitions since joining the club in 2006 from Shrewsbury Town.
