Manchester City transfer news: New Premier League club 'emerges as strong contender' for Grealish

New Premier League club emerges as strong contender for Grealish

Jack Grealish no longer appears to be part of Pep Guardiola's plans at Manchester City and looks set to leave the club during the 2025 summer transfer window. A Premier League rival have emerged as serious contenders for his signature.

Grealish joined the Citizens from Aston Villa in the summer of 2021 for €117.5m (£99.5m), and while he has had some strong seasons, his form has dipped over recent months. Now 29, the England international is seen more as a substitute option at City and has lost his regular place under Guardiola.

A summer departure now seems inevitable and would likely suit all parties. While earlier in July reports suggested up to seven clubs – including West Ham United and Newcastle United – were interested in the player, no concrete developments had taken place. However, GiveMeSport have now provided new insight into the situation.

Tottenham emerge as strong contenders for Jack Grealish

According to the British outlet, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Grealish’s profile. Following their unsuccessful pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White – who has since extended his contract with Nottingham Forest – Spurs are still in the market for a creative player in their attacking setup, and see the Man City winger as a suitable fit.

Encouragingly for the north London club, Grealish is reportedly open to the move. With Champions League football on offer next season, Spurs represent an attractive destination for the former Aston Villa star.

Should Tottenham decide to step up their interest and make a formal approach, they are viewed as the most likely landing spot for Grealish. According to Transfermarkt, the winger is currently valued at €28m (£23.7m).
