A report claims that Benfica youngster Tiago Dantas could be on his way to Manchester City next year.

Manchester City are the frontrunners to sign teenage midfielder Tiago Dantas from Benfica, according to a report.

The 17-year-old has yet to break into the Portuguese giants' first team and is due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

Dantas is said to be considering his future at the Estadio da Luz, and Portuguese outlet Record suggests that Man City is a possible destination for the youngster.

The Citizens are rumoured to be well positioned to pounce for Dantas, who has starred for Benfica at Under-19s level this term.

A new midfielder is top of Pep Guardiola's wishlist ahead of the January transfer window.
