Man City 'set for £14m windfall if Man Utd sign Sancho'

Manchester City could be set for a windfall of almost £14m if Manchester United land Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho for a reported £100m fee.

United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly involved in a big-money tug-of-war for the 18-year-old England international, who has burst onto the scene with nine goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season.

Sancho is expected to cost as much as £100m to prise away from the Westfalenstadion, which could also benefit Man City due to clauses in the deal which took him to Dortmund in 2017.

City included a 15% sell-on clause for anything above the £8m Dortmund bought him for, which in a £100m deal would see the Premier League champions get £13.8m.

However, there could also be a chance for City to hijack the deal as they have first refusal on the youngster, meaning that if Dortmund accept a bid from anyone else then Man City can match that offer and discuss terms over a return to the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola's side do not have a specific clause relating to Manchester United in the contract, though, as they did with Brahim Diaz's January departure.
