Man City 'planning summer move for Ben Foster'

Manchester City are reportedly keen to bring Watford's Ben Foster to the Etihad Stadium during this summer's transfer window.

The 38-year-old has made 22 Championship appearances for the Hornets during the 2020-21 campaign but has not featured in the second tier of English football since the start of January.

Foster has a contract at Vicarage Road until next June, but according to The Sun, Man City are keen to sign the Englishman in the upcoming market.

The report claims that the Citizens view the former Manchester United goalkeeper as the ideal candidate to fill the back-up position to Ederson, with Zack Steffen potentially being loaned out next term.

Foster has featured on 364 occasions in the Premier League during spells with Man United, Watford, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.

Man United are thought to be planning a similar move, with the Red Devils said to be eyeing Aston Villa's Tom Heaton on a free transfer.
