Manchester City goalkeeper Eirik Johansen heads to New York

Manchester City goalkeeper Eirik Johansen completes a switch to MLS side New York City.

New York City have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Eirik Johansen.

The Norwegian, who spent the pre-season period training with the MLS outfit, has made the switch from Manchester City.

"I had a great experience working with squad and coaches during the pre-season and I'm excited to rejoin the team on permanent basis," the 22-year-old told the club's official website.

"The quality of the training really impressed me, as did the way the team came together in such a short period of time."

Johansen never made a senior appearance during his stint with the Citizens.
