Joleon Lescott open to move abroad when he leaves Manchester City

Joleon Lescott insists that there is "no bad feeling" towards Manchester City as he prepares to leave the club, perhaps for a foreign challenge, in the summer.

Joleon Lescott is leaving his future career options open and has insisted that he has no bitterness towards Manchester City over his impending departure.

The defender, who joined from Everton for £24m in 2009, is almost certain to leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Lescott has known that this has been on the cards for some time and is therefore aiming to impress potential suitors, perhaps even from abroad, if he gets the chance between now and the summer.

"My days at City are numbered but there is no bad feeling. I've known for a while but there is no resentment," he said in The People.

"I know my contract won't be renewed, so every performance I've put in this season has been like being in the shop window. Hopefully someone is watching and wants to sign me.

"I wouldn't rule out a move a move abroad. I need to weigh up my options and see what is best for me and my family."

Turkish giants Galatasaray, who are managed by Lescott's former Man City boss Roberto Mancini, have been linked with a move for the 31-year-old, while West Ham United are leading the English interest.
