Defender Vincent Kompany says that he will still be playing for Manchester City next season.

Defender Vincent Kompany has revealed that he will remain at Manchester City past the end of this season.

Kompany is nearing the end of his 11th campaign at the Etihad Stadium, but the 33-year-old has less than three months remaining on his contract.

Discussions are continuing regarding fresh terms, but Kompany has insisted that he will be staying at the Premier League champions.

The club captain told talkSPORT: "Oh yeah, I'll be playing next season. I'm part of the family now, so we'll deal with this situation as a family.

"We might agree or disagree but it won't change any of the relationships between me and the club, but it's not a priority right now, one guarantee is that I will be playing and trying to win more trophies."

Kompany has made a total of 19 appearances in all competitions during the current campaign.
