Man City lineup vs. Aston Villa: Predicted XI for Tuesday's Premier League clash

Foden, McAtee to start in new look midfield: Predicted Man City lineup vs. Villa

Pep Guardiola has the option to make multiple changes to his Manchester City side when they welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Tuesday.

Some late substitutions had the desired effect at Goodison Park on Saturday, when City scored two late goals to take all three points against Everton, with Mateo Kovacic having the biggest impact, while also netting the clincher.

This could be Kovacic's 200th Premier League appearance, and his goal on Saturday was his sixth in the league this season, more than the amount he managed in his first six seasons combined in England.

The Croatian is unlikely to be the only change in midfield either, with Phil Foden and James McAtee both in contention to start after being on the bench at the weekend, while Jeremy Doku could also replace Savinho, who was underwhelming at Everton.

Manuel Akanji made his return from a groin injury as a late sub, but after keeping a clean sheet on the road, Guardiola could stick with Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol as their centre-back pairing.

The City boss has made multiple changes at right-back in recent weeks, though, with Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis sharing duties in that position, and the latter could get the nod here after being left out on Saturday.

Stefan Ortega is set to start in goal once more after Ederson was ruled out with a groin injury that could sideline him for the next few weeks, while there are also ongoing issues for Nathan Ake and John Stones in defence.

There have been no new updates on the condition of Rodri, who is unlikely to feature before the season is out, but top scorer Erling Haaland should, with Guardiola confident he will play some part in the remaining few games of the campaign.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ortega; Lewis, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; Kovacic, De Bruyne; McAtee, Foden, Doku; Marmoush
