Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made just two changes to his starting lineup for tonight’s Premier League clash with Fulham at the Etihad Stadium.
Following Sunday's dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against Liverpool at Anfield, Ruben Dias and Phil Foden have been recalled at the expense of Abdukodir Khusanov and Omar Marmoush, who revert to the substitutes' bench.
Foden has not scored or provided an assist in his last 13 appearances (10 starts) across all competitions, but he did score twice in City's pulsating 5-4 victory against Fulham in the reverse fixture at Craven Cottage on December 2. The playmaker is set to operate in an advanced role tonight alongside captain Bernardo Silva, who scored against Liverpool last time out.
Top scorer Erling Haaland, who netted his 100th Premier League goal in record-breaking time away against Fulham, is set to be supported up front by January signing Antoine Semenyo, who has been involved in five goals in his last three PL games against the Cottagers.
Rodri and Nico O'Reilly will continue in deeper midfield roles, while Dias returns to start at centre-back, joining Matheus Nunes, Marc Guehi and Rayan Ait-Nouri in a four-man defence that will protect goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Meanwhile, John Stones is named on the bench and has made a welcome return to the matchday squad for the first time since featuring as a substitute in City's aforementioned win a Fulham earlier this season.
Bobb on bench against former club, Bassey, Tete return to Fulham XI
As for Fulham, head coach Marco Silva has also made just two changes to the side that began the 2-1 home defeat to Everton last weekend.
Calvin Bassey is handed his first start for the Cottagers since the middle of December and takes the place of Jorge Cuenca at centre-back, while Kenny Tete replaces Timothy Castagne at right-back.
Joachim Andersen and Ryan Sessegnon complete the back four, with Sander Berge and Alex Iwobi retaining their starting spots in centre-midfield, as Emile Smith Rowe operates in the number 10 role.
Oscar Bobb, who was signed from Man City for £27m in January, will not make his full debut for Fulham tonight, as he begins as a substitute once again. Harry Wilson and Samuel Chukwueze will instead provide width on the flanks and Raul Jimenez will lead the line.
