Manchester City lineup vs. Nottingham Forest: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as John Stones nears return

John Stones to make his return? Predicted Man City XI vs. Nottingham Forest

Man City have an opportunity to go top of the Premier League table this Saturday when they pay Nottingham Forest a visit at the City Ground.

Pep Guardiola’s men have won seven straight games, and the last two Premier League victories have seen the Spaniard name an unchanged side.

The big question ahead of the weekend is whether John Stones will mark his return from a leg injury.

The England international missed City’s previous five games, though recent reports suggest he may be ready to return to the squad.

In terms of other injury problems, Rodri remains on the sidelines with a hamstring issue – one which has kept him out of action for the last 11 matches.

Oscar Bobb is also nursing a hamstring problem, which he picked up during City’s recent EFL Cup victory over Brentford earlier this month.

In better news, Jeremy Doku is nearing full recovery, with the player expected to mark his return in January – potentially against Sunderland.

The same cannot be said about Mateo Kovacic, with the Croatian midfielder not expected back for another few months.

Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush, meanwhile, are both representing their respective nations at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Man City possible starting lineup: Donnarumma; O’Reilly, Gvardiol, Dias, Nunes; Reijnders, Nico, Silva; Foden, Cherki; Haaland
