Pablo Zabaleta: 'Crystal Palace game is key'

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta insists that Saturday's clash against Crystal Palace is a vital chance to maintain their form for a title push.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has insisted that Saturday's clash with Crystal Palace is vital to his side's title hopes.

The Argentina international admits that the 2-1 win over Liverpool was a huge victory, but he believes that all the games over the festive period are vital.

City have a perfect home record after nine games at the Etihad Stadium this season and Zabaleta admits that confidence is high throughout the squad.

"We know December and January is one of the key points for the big teams to make a difference because we play many games and you need to try to keep winning," Zabaleta told reporters.

"At the moment we are doing well, are one point behind the leaders and that is why Crystal Palace is also a key game.
"We are very comfortable and we feel good and have huge confidence.

"Sometimes there is talk we need to improve our performances away from home but we had a good win at Fulham and now our next game is at home to Crystal Palace so we need to have a good rest and be fit for that game."

Zabaleta made a return from injury in the game against Liverpool.
