David Silva hails influence of Manuel Pellegrini

David Silva believes that Manuel Pellegrini's calm attitude has made the difference at Manchester City this season.

David Silva has claimed that Manchester City have taken great strides forward as a club under Manuel Pellegrini this season.

City are just one point away from clinching the Premier League title ahead of Sunday's match against West Ham United, and Silva believes that the manager's calmness has been infectious inside the dressing room during their campaign.

"His calmness has been obvious," the Spaniard told members of the media. "He's added that to the whole club and it really helps us at difficult moments.

"It's nice to have that calm attitude around you when things get tough. That has suited us. So has the style of play he's brought with him. He likes us to have possession, create chances and score lots of goals."

Pellegrini's side are two points ahead of Liverpool heading into the final set of fixtures.
