Manuel Pellegrini: "I never feel pressure"

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini insists that he is not worried about his job despite the team's poor run of form.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that he is not feeling any pressure despite the team's poor form.

The Premier League champions have slipped seven points behind leaders Chelsea in recent weeks thanks to a four-game winless run.

City were also dumped out of the FA Cup two weeks ago by Championship side Middlesbrough.

Reports have suggested that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone is being lined up to replace Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium, but the Chilean insists that he is not worried about his job.

"I never feel pressure," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "I have repeated the same answer for the same question for the last two years.

"The only pressure is my own pressure that I make myself when I don't feel the team is playing well. We have a lot of things to think about, more important than pressure. I don't feel any pressure inside the club or outside."

City continue the defence of their Premier League title on Wednesday night when they travel to Stoke City.
