Manchester City will reportedly offer David Silva a new contract this summer.

Manchester City will reportedly offer David Silva a lucrative new contract this summer, despite reports that the Spaniard is homesick.

The midfielder has two years remaining on his current deal, but the Sky Blues are said to be keen to secure his services long-term.

Silva has attracted the attention of top Spanish sides Real Madrid and Barcelona, following rumours that he is seeking a return to his homeland. However, the player claimed that he is "happy" in Manchester during a recent interview.

City are also planning to offer new contracts to Joleon Lescott and captain Vincent Kompany, the Daily Mail reports.

The club has not altered its stance on midfelder Nigel de Jong, who turned down a new deal last summer in the hope of landing a more attractive offer.

Silva, who signed for City from Valencia two seasons ago, will reportedly earn £250,000 a week if he puts pen to paper on a new deal in the summer.
