Samir Nasri will miss the next three Premier League matches after Manchester City decide not to appeal his recent red card.

Manchester City have decided not to appeal the red card that Samir Nasri received against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The French attacker was handed his marching orders during the first half of City's 4-3 win for appearing to aim his head at Norwich defender Sebastien Bassong following a challenge between the two players.

After the match Man City manager Roberto Mancini hinted that the club would appeal the decision when he insisted that his dismissal could only have been justified had Bassong also received the same punishment.

However, having had time to review the video footage, City have opted against lodging a challenge with the Football Association.

The 25-year-old will now miss his side's matches against Stoke City, Watford and former club Arsenal.
