Jan Kirchhoff: 'Pep Guardiola will win the Premier League with Manchester City'

Jan Kirchhoff backs Pep Guardiola to win the Premier League title with Manchester City.

Former Bayern Munich player Jan Kirchhoff has backed Pep Guardiola to win the Premier League title with Manchester City when he takes over in the summer.

The Spaniard will leave Bayern at the end of the season to take on a three-year contract at City, which will be the first English club that he has managed.

Guardiola has won 19 trophies during his spells at Barcelona and Bayern, and Kirchhoff, who played under the 45-year-old in Germany before joining Sunderland, believes that the success will not stop there.

"Honest? Pep Guardiola's going to win this league and change this league like you've never seen before," Kirchhoff told The Guardian.

"I'm totally sure. He's going to build one of the greatest teams at Manchester City and win the league without any trouble. You're going to see a totally different way of playing. It's one of the best situations English football's going to have for a long, long time."

City have a chance of winning the Champions League this season as they are in the quarter-finals of the competition.
