Jovetic: 'City haven't seen the best of me'

Stevan Jovetic has admitted that Manchester City have not seen the striker at his best since he moved to the Premier League champions in 2013.

The 25-year-old made just 18 appearances in his first season with the club as he struggled with a string of injuries, but has scored three goals in his last seven outings this campaign.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "The City fans have not seen the best of me. Nowhere near. I have scored five goals so far and I am capable of scoring a lot more.

"With the injuries we have, I might get a run of games in the team. If that happens they will see what I can do. I just want to stay healthy now. If I can do that then I can promise them that I am a much better player than they have seen so far.

"I know people are saying that I am always injured, but when other players get injured the same as me they don't get the same reputation. I don't think I have a big problem. I would say that I have just been unlucky."

Jovetic joined the Citizens from Fiorentina for around £24m ahead of the 2013-14 season.
