Joe Hart: 'We were disappointing'

Manchester City keeper Joe Hart reflects on a "disappointing performance" against relegation-threatened Norwich City.

Manchester City keeper Joe Hart has admitted that his side put in a "disappointing performance" at relegation-threatened Norwich City today after they left Carrow Road with just a point.

A game lacking many chances for either side resulted in a bore draw that leaves City nine points off leaders Leicester City in the race for the Premier League title.

"It was a disappointing performance. Myself and John Ruddy could have had the afternoon off," Hart told the Manchester Evening News.

"You have to give credit to Norwich for how they defended – they defended in numbers and made a few changes which worked for them, but I'm not really bothered about Norwich, it's about what we do and we weren't really good enough to win the game if I'm honest.

"We'll keep going because that's the spirit we have here and have had since I first arrived, but sometimes it's not good enough. We needed more invention, more brilliance and we relied a bit too much on that today and it wasn't available."

Next up for City is the home leg of their Champions League tie with Dynamo Kiev, which they lead 3-1, on Tuesday before they welcome neighbours Manchester United to the Etihad in the league on March 20.
