Gabriel Jesus sees similarities between Manchester City's "beautiful" style of play under Pep Guardiola and the swashbuckling football of his native Brazil.

Gabriel Jesus has made a comparison between Manchester City's "beautiful" style of play under Pep Guardiola and the swashbuckling football of his native Brazil.

The 20-year-old has scored six goals in seven Premier League appearances this season, helping the Citizens top the table by two points from rivals Manchester United.

Jesus only joined City from Palmeiras in January this year but has netted 13 league goals in 17 games and formed a fruitful partnership with fellow forward Sergio Aguero.

Speaking about their recent 7-2 hammering of Stoke City, Jesus suggested that his side's performance was similar to the 'jogo bonito' played in Brazil.

"Yes, it was almost like [Brazilian football]," Jesus told Sky Sports News. "In Brazil when we win with so many goals the players tend to start playing with more style and being playful.

"They start jumping around and it did feel more or less like this. It felt like a very beautiful way of winning that game.

"As players we enjoyed it a lot and that's how we felt inside the pitch."

Up next for City is a Premier League home game against Burnley on Saturday.
