Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan claims that the team's training facilities prove that they are among the world's biggest clubs.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has claimed that the team's training facilities prove that they are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

City have only recently become a force to be reckoned with in the domestic and European game following heavy investment from the Abu Dhabi United Group since 2008.

The arrival of Pep Guardiola as manager during the summer is expected to be another step towards their goal of winning the Champions League, and Gundogan believes that the tools are in place for them to achieve that.

"When I drive into our training centre here and see all of this, then it's extremely impressive. Not even Bayern can compare to this, this is in a different league," he told Kicker magazine.

"You realise that you have arrived at one of the biggest clubs in the world who have big ambition and would like to develop something big over the coming years. The pressure and responsibility for the individual players is accordingly big and it's certainly different to in Dortmund.

"They make it quite clear that they crave the very best here. The expectation levels are extremely high due to the transfers and above all due to Pep. He is simply success personified."

Gundogan has scored four goals in his last three games for Man City.
