Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says that his side must "respect" Burnley when the two clubs meet at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has praised Burnley for their impressive start to the Premier League campaign.

The Clarets currently sit in seventh place in the standings after suffering just one defeat in eight games, but City are heavy favourites for Saturday's clash at the Etihad Stadium after registering 10 wins in a row in all competitions.

However, Guardiola has said that he and his players "respect" Sean Dyche's side, who are undefeated in away games against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton.

The 46-year-old told reporters: "We have a lot of respect for what they have done. With the same people and same manager they had problems winning away last season.

"They've taken points at Anfield, Tottenham and Everton. What they do they do really well. We have to try and be dynamic and quick."

City currently sit two points clear at the top of the top-flight table.
