Pep Guardiola in advanced talks over Manchester City job?

A report claims that Manchester City are lining up Pep Guardiola to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the current season.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is in advanced talks with Manchester City over taking over from Manuel Pellegrini at the Eithad next season, according to a report.

The Spaniard won a myriad of trophies including three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues in his four years at the helm of his former club Barcelona before taking over at Bayern in 2013, whom he has so far led to back-to-back Bundesliga titles.

However, he is out of contract at the German champions at the end of the season and, according to the Sunday Express, he is now being lined up to replace Pellegrini at City.

The Chilean is nearing the end of his three-year contract at the ex-Premier League champions, and the report claims that chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is unhappy with the single Premier League title and League Cup trophy that have been won in his time in charge,

It is claimed that Al Mubarak will now turn to Guardiola, currently the most successful coach in Europe in terms of trophies, in an attempt to re-establish their dominance of English football and to help them achieve their Champions League ambitions.

Man City are currently top of the Premier League table on goal difference ahead of Arsenal.
