Fernandinho dismisses talk of a bust-up with Vincent Kompany

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has denied that he and Vincent Kompany were involved in a heated argument during half time against Liverpool two weeks ago.

Reports had suggested that Kompany was dropped from the team for last week's win over Leicester City after a "blazing row" with Fernandinho.

However, the Brazilian insists that it has been blown way out of proportion.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "There was a conversation, and not much more than that. I don't know why people actually thought there was a fight, we spoke about how we could improve things in that match.

"I don't have anything bad to say about Vinny. He is a great player, a great team member, and I have always liked him. It's very weird that this story actually came up, for something so small to suddenly become so big."

City lost the game 2-1 at Anfield, but the score was 1-1 at half time.
