Manchester City have announced that club captain Fernandinho has handed over the armband to Oleksandr Zinchenko for their FA Cup fifth-round tie at Peterborough United.
Pep Guardiola revealed to the press yesterday that Zinchenko would play at London Road despite Russia's invasion of his native Ukraine.
The 25-year-old, who has been capped 48 times for the Ukrainian national team, was pictured in tears walking off after City's 1-0 win at Everton last weekend, following the support he and Toffees defender Vitaliy Mykolenko received from both sets of supporters.
Zinchenko is one of six changes Guardiola has made to his starting lineup, along with Nathan Ake, Fernandinho, Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus.

With Zinchenko operating at left-back, Joao Cancelo has switched to the right side of a back four, with centre-backs Ruben Dias and Ake shielding goalkeeper Ederson between the sticks.
Phil Foden is set to drop into a midfield three alongside Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan, while Grealish, Mahrez and Jesus form the attacking front three, replacing Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, who all drop to the substitutes' bench.
