Football Association charges Martin Demichelis over betting breaches

Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis has been charged by the Football Association in relation to breaking betting rules.

It is alleged that the 35-year-old made 12 separate breaches of the regulations during one week of January this year.

Argentina international Demichelis now has until 5pm on April 5 to respond to the charge.

In 2014, footballers that play in England's top eight leagues were banned from placing wagers on football matches.
