Edin Dzeko: 'I can fill Sergio Aguero void'

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko is confident that he can fill the goalscoring void left by Sergio Aguero.

The Argentine, who has struck 19 goals in 21 City appearances this season, is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury in Saturday's 1-0 win over Everton.

Dzeko is returning from injury himself after spending four games out with a calf problem, but the 28-year-old - who scored 28 times last season - believes that he can step up in his teammate's absence.

"I'm there when the team needs me and I'm happy to be back," he told Sky Sports News.

"It was a bit hard for me but now I'm back and I'll do my best to try and score the goals and bring something good to the team.

"I always try to do my job and my job is to score goals and I will keep scoring them, I'm sure, if I [stay] healthy."

The Sky Blues face a crucial Champions League clash away to Roma tonight, with Manuel Pellegrini's side knowing that only a victory will see them move into the last 16.
