Daniele De Rossi to stay at Roma

Manchester City are likely to miss out on Daniele De Rossi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

City boss Roberto Mancini is a known admirer of the Roma player, having described the midfielder as "the perfect man to improve City."

De Rossi's current contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he is free to talk to clubs outside of Italy about a free transfer move in the summer.

However, the 28-year-old is said to be happy in Rome and set to commit his future to the club.

De Rossi is a one-club man and has been at Roma since 2001.
