Balotelli drops disciplinary appeal

Mario Balotelli has dropped a disciplinary appeal against Manchester City over a fine that was recently imposed upon him.

The Italian striker was known to be unhappy with the club's decision, which at the time was thought to have been a two-week financial punishment.

As a result, the 22-year-old had begun legal proceedings against the Premier League champions.

However, following a series of discussions, the centre-forward has now had a change of heart and has decided to accept the fine.

"Mario Balotelli has chosen to accept a two-week fine levied upon him by the club and withdraw his disciplinary appeal, which was due to be heard by a Premier League panel today," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Mario remains available for selection for all forthcoming fixtures."

Despite the resolution, a number of reports have linked Balotelli with a move away from the Etihad Stadium during the upcoming January transfer window.
