Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ossie Ardiles believes that Carlos Tevez should apologise to Manchester City for his antics and continue his career at the Etihad Stadium.
The 27-year-old has been embroiled in a whirlwind of controversy with the Premier League club, a return to which now looks unlikely.
The Argentina international flew to South America a fortnight ago without permission from the North West side and is yet to jet back to England.
"Tevez is a great payer to have in your team and, last May, he was the best player for Manchester City and their most important player," Ardiles told talkSPORT.
"It looks like he's been badly advised by the people around him who are only interested in money. The best thing that can happen for him and City is for him to say sorry and to carry on playing for City.
"He's at the crossroads of not only his career, but his life. I hope he listens to his friends, not just his advisors."
City boss Roberto Mancini recently claimed that there is no way back for the disgraced striker.
