Manchester City's Manuel Pellegrini targets quadruple

Manuel Pellegrini says that Manchester City can go on and win four trophies this season.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that he is determined to win the quadruple this season.

The Citizens claimed their first piece of silverware this campaign on Sunday when they defeated Sunderland 3-1 in the League Cup final.

City are still in the hunt for the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup.

"We're the only club that still has the chance to continue trying to win all the competitions and this will give us a lot of confidence," The Mirror quotes the Chilean as saying.

"So it's important to win the first one for such a big club like Manchester City. We will try. We know it's not easy but we're going to try to do it. For a club like Manchester City, to fail is not good. We failed last year, but we did not fail today.

"We're going to have a great season when the season ends in May. We have won one trophy, but nobody can think that is enough. We can improve, but with important players, you can never be satisfied with one trophy."

Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas were on target for City at Wembley.
