Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne says that he did not pick up a serious hamstring injury against Bournemouth.

Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne is confident that he will not be out of action for too long with the hamstring injury that he picked up on Saturday afternoon.

De Bruyne was substituted at the interval of City's 1-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

There were fears that the Belgium international, who has already suffered two separate knee ligament injuries this season, could be heading for another long spell on the sidelines.

However, the 27-year-old has provided a positive update on his fitness.

"It happens, you know. I don't think it's too bad this time," the Manchester Evening News quotes De Bruyne as saying.

"I felt a little bit tight at the end of the half. I did one action with the pass and I didn't feel too comfortable so I just took myself out. It's better not to take a risk. I felt something but I don't think its going to be too severe."

City are next in action at home to Watford in the Premier League next weekend, before hosting Schalke 04 for the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie on March 12.
