Pellegrini pleased with City improvement

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has expressed his satisfaction with his side's improvement in the second half against Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday.

Having gone into the break goalless, the Citizens secured a 3-0 victory in their opening match of the new Champions League campaign at the home of the Czech champions.

While he feels that his team played well in the first half, Pellegrini is happy with the way they upped the ante after the interval.

"The first half we had a good match, we have three or four clear chances to score but I think the second half we played really well," Pellegrini told Sky Sports News.

"We made some movements so we could create space which is needed, as with 10 players behind the ball it is very difficult to try and score so we had to get more from our game and we got three goals."

Edin Dzeko, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero scored the goals for City in Group D.
