James Milner hails "incredible" Joe Hart

Manchester City midfielder James Milner singles out Joe Hart for special praise following the goalkeeper's performance during the 1-0 defeat to Barcelona.

Manchester City midfielder James Milner has heaped praise on goalkeeper Joe Hart following his performance in the 1-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou this evening.

Manuel Pellegrini's side crashed out of the Champions League as a result of the defeat, but it could have been worse for the visitors if not for the England number one.

Hart made a string of one-on-one saves to thwart the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez and keep his side in the tie, having also denied Messi from the spot in the dying stages of the first leg last month.

"Joe Hart was incredible. He's shown what a great goalkeeper he is," Milner told Sky Sports News.

"It could have been out of sight but he was amazing tonight. We didn't show our best over both legs for long enough."

Ivan Rakitic's first-half strike consigned the Premier League champions to their second consecutive exit at the hands of Barcelona in the last 16.
