Newcastle hope to lure Lyon’s Aly Cissokho to St James’s Park

Newcastle are preparing to table a bid for Lyon defender Aly Cissokho.

The 23-year-old, who was initially linked with a move to Liverpool, has sparked interest from the North East club after Jose Enrique’s departure to the Reds.

The Premier League side are expected to offer £8m for the left-back, according to talkSPORT.

The Frenchman has been open about his desire to compete in the top flight in England.
