Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lyon vs. Lille

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lyon vs. Lille.

Nice vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Seeking to bounce back from a humiliating defeat to whipping boys Dijon, Nice welcome Montpellier HSC to the Allianz Riviera on Sunday lunchtime.

In contrast, the visitors go into this game on the back of Coupe de France success having beaten Canet Roussillon 2-1 in the quarter-finals on Tuesday night.

We say: Nice 1-1 Montpellier HSC

With Gouiri injured and Kasper Dolberg failing to fire on all cylinders, it is difficult to see where the goals might come from for Nice, but they may fancy their chances against a Montpellier side without their two of their first-choice centre-backs.

Der Zakarian opted for a near full-strength side in the Coupe de France and his players are likely to be feeling the effects of that gruelling evening, but 15-goal Delort is always capable of producing the goods, so we can envisage yet another stalemate for Montpellier here.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lorient vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lorient and Bordeaux will both be aiming to steer clear of the Ligue 1 drop zone when they lock horns at the Stade du Moustoir on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts fell to an agonising 3-2 defeat to Marseille in their most recent fixture, while Bordeaux's torrid run continued with a 3-0 loss against title-chasing Monaco.

We say: Lorient 2-1 Bordeaux

Lorient will certainly view the visit of Bordeaux as a game they should be winning given their opponents' miserable form, and they always seem capable of coming up trumps on home soil.

Gasset's team became renowned for their solid defence earlier in the season, but Moffi will be eyeing success against a Girondins side without their leader Koscielny, so we are backing Lorient to boost their survival prospects at the expense of Bordeaux's.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lens vs. Nimes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Lens will look to extend their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to 13 games when they play host to Nimes on Sunday at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

One of the hottest teams in France, Lens, are coming off a 1-1 draw with Brest, while Nimes are winless in their last three league games after conceding a late goal to Strasbourg in a 1-1 draw last weekend.

We say: Lens 1-0 Nimes

Each of the last three home Ligue 1 games played by Lens against Nimes have resulted in a goalless draw.

Nimes will be desperate to overtake Lorient in the standings, while Lens want to maintain their slim lead on fifth place. The difference is Lens are stronger defensively than Les Crocodiles, who have conceded 60 goals, the second-most in Ligue 1.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Rennes vs. Dijon (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Having ended their torrid losing run in inspiring fashion against Nice, Ligue 1 basement side Dijon will hope to pull off another monumental shock at the home of Rennes on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the hosts boosted their European ambitions with an equally impressive 3-0 win over mid-table side Angers last time out.

We say: Rennes 2-0 Dijon

Dijon supporters have at least been treated to a home win before their side inevitably have their relegation confirmed, and Rennes should be the ones to seal their fate.

Les Hiboux have enjoyed some recent successes against their upcoming opponents, but the Genesio revolution is in full swing, and the hosts should stroll to a comfortable win as Dijon prepare to wave their goodbyes to the top flight.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Strasbourg vs. Nantes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Strasbourg manager Thierry Laurey pictured in February 2020© Reuters

Nantes will look to end a three-match losing run in Ligue 1 when they travel to Stade de la Meinau on Sunday to face Strasbourg.

Les Coureurs scored with eight minutes remaining to salvage a point against Nimes in their last outing, while Nantes fell to a 2-1 defeat to Lyon last Sunday.

We say: Strasbourg 1-0 Nantes

Strasbourg have won their last three Ligue 1 games against Nantes, including a 4-0 win back in December, and even though Les Coureurs are not great at home, Nantes are far too inconsistent at the back.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Angers vs. Monaco (Sunday, 4.05pm)

AS Monaco's Guillermo Maripan celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on January 23, 2021© Reuters

Angers and Monaco prepare to lock horns in Sunday's Ligue 1 battle at the Stade Raymond Kopa following contrasting fortunes in their midweek Coupe de France outings.

Les Scoistes were thrashed 5-0 by holders Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals, while Monaco sealed progress into the last four courtesy of a 2-0 win over Lyon.

We say: Angers 0-2 Monaco

Angers are shipping goals at an alarming rate for Moulin, who has been hit with even more absentees in the rearguard before Monaco's ruthless attack pay a visit.

In contrast, Les Monegasques' form since the turn of the year has the principality side believing that a historic Ligue 1 triumph is on the cards, and while there may be some tired legs after a taxing Coupe de France fixture, we cannot see Kovac's side travelling home without all three points in the bag.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Lyon vs. Lille (Sunday, 8.00pm)

A tantalizing showdown at the top of the Ligue 1 table takes place on Sunday night as leaders Lille travel to fourth-placed Lyon in the final fixture of gameweek 34.

The hosts' most recent fixture saw them suffer a 2-0 defeat in the Coupe de France quarter-finals to Monaco, whereas Lille left it late to rescue a point against Montpellier HSC.

We say: Lyon 1-1 Lille

Lyon could have easily dumped Monaco out of the Coupe de France on another day, but frazzled brains and fatigued legs could yet hinder their chances of blowing the title race wide open this weekend.

David's return to fitness will be a significant boost for Lille as they bid to remain atop their perch, and as impressive as their away form is, Garcia may have struck gold with the 4-2-3-1 and we can see Lyon holding their title rivals to a point - a result which will be gratefully received by PSG and Monaco.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
