Sunday's Nations League predictions including Portugal vs. Scotland

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Nations League fixtures, including Portugal vs. Scotland.

Luxembourg vs. Belarus (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Luc Holtz, manager of Luxembourg, watches on before his side take on France on June 5, 2024© Imago

In their second game of their UEFA Nations League C campaign, Luxembourg are set to host Belarus at Stade de Luxembourg on Sunday.

The home side are last in fourth place in their group with no points after they lost 2-0 against Northern Ireland on September 5, while the visitors are second with one point after they drew 0-0 with Bulgaria on the same date.

We say: Luxembourg 1-0 Belarus

Given Belarus's poor form and the fact they have failed to score in the last five matches, it is difficult to see how they win on Sunday.

Although Luxembourg struggled to produce much in way of attacking threat against Northern Ireland, it would not be surprising if they continued their strong home form and collected all three points.

Denmark vs. Serbia (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Denmark return to Parken for another UEFA Nations League home clash on Sunday, when Serbia are the visitors to Copenhagen.

Both sides will be pleased with their work on matchday one in what now looks a much more competitive group than before it began.

We say: Denmark 1-0 Serbia

Denmark have won 11 of their last 12 home matches, drawing the other against Switzerland in March, so they will be hugely confident of extending that run after a win over the same opponents on Thursday.

Serbia kept Spain at bay on the same night, but they need to show more in attack, and with no Mitrovic or Vlahovic they could struggle in that regard, and there is only so far a solely strong rearguard can get you.

Slovakia vs. Azerbaijan (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Aiming to record back-to-back competitive victories this month, Slovakia will welcome a new-look Azerbaijan side to Kosice on Sunday night for a UEFA Nations League C battle.

The Falcons managed a narrow success on the road during their opening match of the competition, whilst Milli Komanda were defeated by the section favourites on home soil.

We say: Slovakia 1-0 Azerbaijan

Slovakia were dominant in Tallinn on Thursday night against Estonia, so the Falcons should be confident of easing past the attentions of Azerbaijan on home soil.

Milli Komanda have struggled significantly on the road over the past 12 months, and we expect that theme to continue in Kosice on Sunday night.

Bulgaria vs. N. Ireland (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Bulgaria play host to Northern Ireland on matchday two of the UEFA Nations League with both teams having made an unbeaten start to Group C3.

On the same evening that Bulgaria were being held by Belarus, Northern Ireland posted a victory over Luxembourg.

We say: Bulgaria 1-1 Northern Ireland

On the back of defeating Luxembourg, Northern Ireland will consider themselves to be favourites to edge through this fixture. However, Bulgaria have made a habit of posting draws under this manager, leading us to predict another low-scoring stalemate.

Gibraltar vs. Liechtenstein (Sunday, 5.00pm)

Liechtenstein will look to respond from an embarrassing defeat in their group opener when they travel to Gibraltar in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.

The visitors made the headlines for all the wrong reasons on Thursday, becoming the first team ever to lose a competitive fixture against San Marino.

We say: Gibraltar 1-0 Liechtenstein

Neither side possess much quality, especially in attacking areas, but Gibraltar are fancied to take the win and move level on points with San Marino, strengthening their chances of returning to the third tier.

Liechtenstein's defeat in Serravalle has almost put them out of contention already, with only four matches in the group, and a huge chance missed to claim three points, as this should be an even tougher assignment.

Croatia vs. Poland (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Seeking their first point of a new UEFA Nations League campaign, Croatia welcome Poland to Osijek on Sunday evening.

While the hosts were beaten by Portugal on the opening matchday, their League A Group 1 rivals snatched maximum points in Scotland.

We say: Croatia 1-1 Poland

Croatia could be frustrated in their attempt to halt a worrying winless run, as Poland will be buoyed by events on Thursday and have enough nous to score at least once.

With the hosts missing some players - and others are now a fading force - the Eagles can fly home with another point towards their Group 1 total.

Portugal vs. Scotland (Sunday, 7.45pm)

After kicking off their UEFA Nations League campaign with a win, Portugal will seek a second victory on Sunday evening, when they welcome Scotland to Estadio da Luz.

A landmark goal from Cristiano Ronaldo helped the Selecao start with maximum points in League A Group 1, while Scotland sunk to another last-gasp defeat.

We say: Portugal 2-0 Scotland

As Portugal are blessed with attacking riches and Scotland cannot keep the back door shut, there can surely be just one outcome on Sunday evening.

With Cristiano Ronaldo hungry for more goals as he eyes up the 1,000 mark - and he is backed by an able supporting cast - the visitors will remain pointless in Group 1.

Switzerland vs. Spain (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Spain will be bidding to return to winning ways on Sunday evening, with Luis de la Fuente's side continuing their 2024-25 UEFA Nations League campaign with a clash against Switzerland.

The reigning champions were held to a goalless draw by Serbia in their campaign opener on Thursday, while Switzerland suffered a 2-0 defeat to Denmark, who currently sit at the top of Group 4 of League A.

We say: Switzerland 1-2 Spain

This has all of the makings of a very interesting match, and we are expecting Switzerland to cause Spain a lot of problems on Sunday. La Roja will be determined to return to winning ways, though, and we are backing De la Fuente's side to navigate their way to all three points.

Sweden vs. Estonia (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Looking to strengthen their promotion push following victory earlier in the week, Sweden will welcome Estonia to Strawberry Arena in Solna for a UEFA Nations League C match on Sunday night.

Blagult secured an impressive away success in Azerbaijan on Thursday night, whilst the Blueshirts suffered a one-goal defeat at home to Euro 2024 surprise package Slovakia.

We say: Sweden 3-0 Estonia

Sweden possess attacking talent that does not belong in Nations League C, with the likes of Isak and Gyokeres set to put Estonia to the sword on Sunday night.

The Blueshirts have struggled on the road in recent times, and we cannot envisage a positive result for the visitors at Strawberry Arena this weekend.
