Live Commentary: Luxembourg 1-2 Scotland - as it happened

Sports Mole brings you live coverage of Scotland's international friendly match against Luxembourg.

Scotland travelled to Luxembourg for their first game since Craig Levein was sacked as manager.

Under-21 coach Billy Stark took control, but was without key players Steven Fletcher, Phil Bardsley, Charlie Adam, Barry Bannan, James Morrison, Matt Phillips and Shaun Maloney.

Jordan Rhodes scored two to help his country to their first win in four games, although the game was a fairly drab encounter.

You can read how the action unfolded below.

Evening all, and welcome to Sports Mole. Tonight we'll be covering Scotland's game with Luxembourg in the Josy-Bathel Stadium.

We have some team news for you...

Joubert; Schnell, Blaise, Bukvic, Janisch; Leweck, Gerson, Payal, Bettmer, Mutsch; Deville

Gilks; Dixon, Berra, Hanley, Whittaker; Mulgrew, Fletcher, A.Shinnie, Naismith; Miller, Rhodes

The Scottish fans sing along to O Flower of Scotland. They have beers in their hands and are loving the midweek vibe in Luxembourg.

The Luxembourg fans are nonplussed regarding their anthem, but now that it's over we're ready to kick off.

Luxembourg get this game underway...

Scotland have had all of the ball in the opening five minutes, but the game is being played at a pedestrian pace.

CHANCE! Rhodes nearly capitalises on an error from Mutsch but shoots wide. The defender mistimed his first touch and allowed Blackburn man a clear run at goal.

GOAL! RHODES OPENS THE SCORING!

It was a brilliant ball from the left by Dixon and Rhodes made a dart in front of his marker, but still got lucky with his finish. The ball rebounded off the keeper and back onto him before going into the net.

The goal has been pretty much the only real action so far. It's not been the best game.

Schnell sends a cross into the box and Mutsch gets his head on it, but it's a feeble effort. Gilks saves comfortably.

CHANCE! Miller plays through Rhodes but Joubert rushes out and dives at his feet, smothering the ball.

SHOT! Mutsch finds a yard of space on the edge of the area but his shot on the turn goes well wide of the target.

Mulgrew pumps the ball into the box but Joubert picks it out of the air.

Leweck shoots high and wide.

Now it's Miller's turn to shoot woefully over. They should show this game to insomniacs.

GOAL! RHODES SCORES AGAIN!

Great work by Shinnie. He turned his marker in the box and crossed for Naismith. The Everton man couldn't get his effort on target but Rhodes arrives late and smashes in the rebound.

Nearly a fantastic goal from Scotland! Miller linked up nicely with Rhodes to work an opening but the keeper saved well. The linesman also had his flag up, but that's the first football that's been played. It's woken me up slightly.

Scotland are looking for a third. Miller and Rhodes have the ball at their feet in the box but Luxembourg shirts crowd the area. They eventually clear the danger.

SHOT! Bettner has a go from 25 yards out but it's a daisy cutter and Gilks can throw his cap on it.

CHANCE! And it's Luxembourg's first real opportunity. The cross came in from the right and Mutsch had sight at goal from 18 yards out. However, his shot is straight at Gilks. He should have done better.

Luxembourg 0-2 Scotland

It's been too easy for Scotland so far. They lead 2-0 at the break, but in truth the standard is not great.

It's goalless between the Republic of Ireland and Greece, while Northern Ireland trail Azerbaijan.

Scotland kickoff the second half.

Rene Peters comes on to replace Ben Payal

Liam Kelly replaces Charlie Mulgrew

Straight away Kelly is penalised for a foul on Mutsch. Luxembourg have a freekick 25 yards out.

GOAL! SUPERB FREEKICK FROM GERSON!

It was a beautifully taken set piece that curled away from Gilks's fingertips and into the top corner.

Joubert nearly gifts Scotland a chance with some sloppy play. He was far too casual as he tried to clear his lines, but Naismith was offside when Rhodes tried to play him in and the flag went up.

Mathias Janisch makes way for Daniel da Mota

Almost immediately, Da Mota has limped off the pitch clutching his ankle.

Naismith wins a freekick for Scotland from just over 20 yards out.

Dixon rifles the ball at the wall.

Scotland still lead at the hour mark. The atmosphere is completely flat in the Josy-Barthel, which is hardly surprising for a midweek friendly.

SHOT! Mutsch has a dip from long range but it misses the target by a great margin.

Stefano Bensi comes on for Maurice Deville

If you are wondering about the lack of posts, it's not because we're having trouble on the site. It's because nothing is happening.

There's a break in the game as Bettmer is down and receiving some treatment. We can all catch out breath.

Leigh Griffiths replaces Andrew Shinnie

David Turpel comes on for Gilles Bettmer

SHOT! Miller latches onto Naismith's knockdown but Joubert saves with his legs.

SAVE! Bensi has a free header from Mutsch's cross but Gilks palms behind for a corner.

The Scotland has to chase back after Gilks puts them in danger with a poor clearance. It doesn't cost them a goal, but that was a poor kick.

Charles Leweck comes off and Tom Laterza makes his way onto the field

Blaise concedes a corner. Chance for Scotland to wrap this game up.

The ball falls to Giffiths outside the area but his volley is wild.

Freekick for Luxembourg in a similar position from which they scored. Gerson will be the prime candidate, I'm sure.

He is... but he can't conjure up another beauty and hits the wall.

Turpel flashes the ball across goal but no one is there to profit! That could have so nearly been the equaliser!

GOAL DISALLOWED! Rhodes nods home what he thinks is his equaliser but the linesman chalks it off.

SHOT! Bensi has a strike but Gilks gets down well to save.

Freekick for Luxembourg. Peters stands over it.

Peters's delivery is cleared by Hanley.

Jordan Rhodes makes way for Murray Davidson

There's going to be two minutes of time added on.

Luxembourg 1-2 Scotland
