Saturday's Championship predictions including Luton vs. Coventry

Luton vs. Coventry (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Luton Town continue their battle against the drop this weekend, as they face off with Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Hatters are currently 22nd in the table and they are in the relegation zone on goal difference, with only two matches remaining.

We say: Luton Town 1-0 Coventry City

Both sides need the points this weekend, but we think that Luton will claim a precious three points in their battle against the drop.

The Hatters have been in good form of late, and Coventry do not travel all that well, as demonstrated last weekend against Plymouth.

QPR vs. Burnley (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Burnley will be bidding to move to the top of the Championship table when they take on Queens Park Rangers in the penultimate match of their 2024-25 campaign on Saturday afternoon.

Scott Parker's side have already secured promotion back to the Premier League for next season, and they are now locked in a battle with Leeds United for the title, with the two teams level on 94 points at the summit.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Burnley

QPR have the required quality to make this a difficult match for Burnley, and we are expecting to be close in terms of the scoreline, but the visitors should be able to navigate their way to an important three points.

Blackburn vs. Watford (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Blackburn Rovers host Watford in the Championship this weekend, hoping to keep their slim playoff hopes alive for at least another week.

Heading into the weekend, Rovers are four points adrift of the playoff zone with only two games remaining, while the Hornets are already out of playoff contention.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Watford

The Hornets have little to play for now, and they could well already have one eye on the beach, whereas Blackburn just have to win and hope that they get help from elsewhere.

We think that they should get the three points that they need this weekend, which would potentially take their playoff bid to the final day of the season.

Cardiff vs. West Brom (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cardiff City host West Bromwich Albion this weekend, with the Welsh club in desperate need of a win in their battle against the drop from the Championship.

Only a win in this clash will ensure that Cardiff's survival bid goes on until the final day of the campaign; otherwise, the Bluebirds will be looking for favours from elsewhere to keep their hopes alive for another week.

We say: Cardiff City 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

This is a tough match to call given the recent managerial changes at both clubs, and although the Bluebirds really do need three points this weekend, we think that they will have to settle for just one.

There was little to separate the two sides in the first meeting of the season back in October, and we can see this match ending in a draw once again.

Hull City vs. Derby (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two relegation rivals square off in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, as Hull City host Derby County at the MKM Stadium.

Just two points separate the clubs in the standings, and the Rams could leapfrog the Tigers in the table with a win.

We say: Hull City 1-2 Derby County

Derby got back to winning ways at West Brom, and we think that they will secure a big three points in the relegation battle this weekend.

Hull have struggled at home throughout the campaign, and they could be involved in a nervy final day at Fratton Park if this result happens.

Middlesbrough vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Middlesbrough's push for a playoff spot in the Championship will continue on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome Norwich City to the Riverside Stadium.

Boro are currently seventh in the Championship table, three points behind sixth-placed Coventry City with two games left, while Norwich sit down in 14th, with the Canaries having little to play for in the final stages of the season.

We say: Middlesbrough 2-1 Norwich City

Norwich have the attacking power to really hurt Middlesbrough, with Sainz and Sargent scoring 32 times between them in the Championship this term, but we are backing Boro to get the result that they require to keep their promotion hopes alive.

> Championship preview: Middlesbrough vs Norwich

Millwall vs. Swansea (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Millwall will look to take their Championship playoff bid to the final day of the season when they welcome Swansea City to the Den on Saturday.

The Swans still have a mathematical chance of reaching the top six, although it would take a remarkable set of results to sneak into the playoffs.

We say: Millwall 2-1 Swansea City

Both teams will carry significant momentum into the weekend following their recent fine run of results, but with home advantage in their favour, we think the Lions will do enough to edge out Swansea and claim their fifth consecutive victory at the Den.

> Championship preview: Millwall vs Swansea

Oxford Utd vs. Sunderland (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Oxford United could secure mathematical safety when they face Sunderland in Saturday's Championship clash at the Kassam Stadium.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Sunderland will be desperate to end a four-game winless run as they look to build momentum ahead of the playoffs.

We say: Oxford United 1-2 Sunderland

Sunderland may be experiencing a poor run of form, but they tend to fare well in meetings with Oxford, having won five of their previous six head-to-head matches.

With that in mind, we think the Black Cats will squeeze past the U's to bring an end to their four-game winless run.

> Championship preview: Oxford Utd vs Sunderland

Preston vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Plymouth Argyle will look to send their survival bid to the final day of the season when they travel to Deepdale for Saturday's Championship fixture against Preston North End.

The Pilgrims are languishing at the foot of the table, while the 18th-placed visitors are sitting three points above the drop zone following a poor run of form.

We say: Preston North End 1-1 Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth will be desperate to boost their survival hopes by claiming their second away win of the Championship season, but we think they may be held to a draw in Saturday's contest, considering Preston have drawn 12 of their 22 home league games this term.

> Championship preview: Preston vs Plymouth

Sheff Weds vs. Portsmouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield Wednesday will attempt to claim back-to-back wins when they welcome Portsmouth to Hillsborough for their final home game of the season.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth will be hoping to record a third consecutive victory after beating Norwich City and Watford in their last two outings.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Portsmouth

Portsmouth have struggled in recent meetings with Sheffield Wednesday, but after collecting seven points from their last three matches, we think they will do enough to hold the Owls to a draw in their penultimate game of the season.
