Gael Danic scores with 10 minutes remaining on the clock to rescue a point for Valenciennes against Lorient in Ligue 1.

Lorient and Valenciennes have played out a 1-1 draw at Stade Yves Allainmat - Le Moustoir in Ligue 1.

The home side made the breakthrough as early as the fourth minute when Jeremie Aliadiere released Kevin Monnet-Paquet to shoot home from close range.

Gael Danic attempted to restore parity for Valenciennes with a long-range effort, but failed to test Fabien Audard between the Lorient posts.

Mathieu Dossevi was unlucky not to put his side on level terms in the 11th minute when he saw his shot rattle the hosts' crossbar.

Aliadiere and Maxime Barthelme forced Nicolas Penneteau into making good saves, before Vincent Aboubakar was denied at the other end.

Aboubakar once again failed to etch his name on the scoresheet six minutes into the second half, and minutes later Monnet-Paquet and Barthelme went close again for Lorient.

Valenciennes eventually rescued a point and the equaliser came with just 10 minutes left on the clock.

Arnaud Le Lan handled the ball inside the Lorient box, and Danic made no mistake from 12 yards.
