Sterling reluctant to sign new contract?

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling could be reluctant to enter a new contract with the club, reports suggests.

The Reds have informally offered the England international a lucrative five-year deal, but the player is weighing up his options, according to the Daily Mail.

Sterling is said to be seeking further experience in the Champions League, but Liverpool crashed out of the competition after drawing with Basel this week and face an uphill struggle to break into the top four of the Premier League.

The news is likely to put Real Madrid on alert as the La Liga giants have been linked with the youngster on more than one occasion.

Sterling will reportedly earn £70,000 a week if he signs the new contract, and Liverpool are said to be hopeful that a deal will be brokered soon.
