Sevilla confirm Liverpool interest in Alberto Moreno

Sevilla president Jose Castro confirms that Liverpool are interested in signing Spanish youngster Alberto Moreno.

Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing full-back Alberto Moreno.

The 21-year-old Spanish international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the past few weeks.

While revealing that the Merseysiders are keen on Moreno, Castro insists that Sevilla are not in a position where they have to sell their best players.

"It's true that there's interest from Liverpool and we're waiting to see if that turns into a reality, which right now it isn't," he told the club's television channel.

"What I'm clear about is that we'll not force anyone to stay at Sevilla. Whoever wants to leave can do so, but we'll be the ones setting the prices.

"This club is experiencing a time of economic stability and we don't need to sell."

Moreno, who has won three caps for the Spanish national team, made his Sevilla debut in 2012.
