Report: Liverpool in talks to sign goalkeeper Victor Valdes

Liverpool are reportedly holding talks with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes regarding a free transfer.

The Spaniard is available to join a new club at any time after being released by the Spanish giants at the end of last season.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are discussing a deal with Valdes, who would arrive at Anfield as cover for first-choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

However, the 32-year-old is not expected to be fit until December after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, which scuppered his move to Monaco, in March.

Valdes won three Champions League and six La Liga titles with Barcelona.
