A report claims that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is seeking defensive cover in the remaining two weeks of the January transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp is ready to perform a January transfer U-turn by adding to his Liverpool squad this month, according to a report.

The Reds boss suggested earlier this month that he is happy with his current crop and has no plans to bring in any new faces over the next fortnight.

Injuries to defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren have altered Klopp's thinking, however, with The Sun claiming that defensive cover - particularly at right-back - is being being targeted.

Fabinho has had to fill in at centre-back for the past couple of games and James Milner will likely provide cover on the right side of defence for the foreseeable future.

Liverpool are expected to be without Alexander-Arnold for their next four matches, while Gomez and Lovren could return before the end of the month.

Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Conor Coady has been linked with a switch to Anfield in recent days.
